What are the eligibility criteria for joining Merciful Hands Adult Day Center?

At Merciful Hands Day Program, our Psychosocial Rehabilitation (PSR) services are designed to empower individuals aged 18 and older who are navigating severe and persistent mental health conditions. We specialize in supporting those diagnosed with conditions such as schizophrenia spectrum disorders, bipolar disorder, major depressive disorder, and other significant mental health challenges that impact daily functioning.

Our approach is personalized and recovery-focused, addressing difficulties in key areas of life such as employment, education, self-care, and interpersonal relationships. Through our tailored services, we help clients develop or rebuild essential life skills, including effective communication, problem-solving, decision-making, and meaningful community engagement.

What sets us apart is our commitment to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where every individual feels valued and encouraged. Our team combines evidence-based practices with a compassionate touch, ensuring that each client’s journey is unique to their strengths and goals. We work with individuals who have a history of intensive mental health treatment, such as hospitalizations or residential care, and are ready to take the next step toward recovery.

MHDP will always ensure the safety and well-being of all participants, we do not accept individuals who display violent behavior. We are committed to creating a peaceful, respectful atmosphere where each person can thrive, and we ask that all participants adhere to a standard of kindness and respect toward others.

Is  Lunch Provided to Participants?

Lunch is not automatically provided as part of our program, but we are happy to accommodate participants who request a meal. If needed, we can arrange for lunch to be provided, ensuring that each individual’s dietary preferences and needs are met. Please let us know in advance if a lunch is required, and we’ll be glad to make the necessary arrangements.

Are Participants Requried to Self Pay for Outtings?

At our adult day center, outings to locations such as the mall, grocery store, and other community spaces are included in the cost of the program. While the cost of these activities is covered, participants are welcome to bring extra funds if they would like to purchase personal items, snacks, or anything else during the outing.

What Transportation Services are Offered?

At Merciful Hands Adult Day Center, we offer private transportation for participants who are also residents of the Merciful Hands Group Home. For all other participants, we encourage the use of Greensboro SCAT (Specialized Community Area Transportation) services, and our staff is happy to assist with setting up these services. Alternatively, participants are welcome to use private transportation options to reach the center.

Does We Have An Open Door Policy?

Yes, absolutely! We have an open-door policy when it comes to any issues or concerns about your loved one's growth. We encourage open communication and are always available to discuss any questions or feedback you may have. Our dedicated staff is committed to ensuring your loved one's well-being and progress, and we welcome the opportunity to work together in their journey of growth.

Is Saftey of Participants and Staff A priority? 

Yes, the safety of our participants and staff is a top priority. All of our staff members are fully trained in CPR and life-saving techniques, ensuring they are prepared to respond effectively in any emergency situation. Additionally, our team is accredited and specifically trained to work with adults with disabilities, providing a safe and supportive environment for everyone in our care.

Are We Accredited? 

We are proud to be CARF (Commission on Accreditation of Rehabilitation Facilities) accredited, which means that our programs meet the highest standards of quality and care. This accreditation demonstrates our commitment to providing exceptional services and ensuring that our participants receive the best possible care in a safe, supportive environment.
